The Immigration Office (IO, ibz or dvz) is the competent body for access to the territory, residence, settlement and expulsion of foreign nationals in Belgium. All foreign nationals wishing to come and stay in Belgium must obtain authorisation from Immigration Office. The IO is responsible for registering asylum applications and determining whether Belgium is responsible for examining such applications under the Dublin agreements.
